Somewhere along the way, we started believing rest was something you earn — after the grind, after the hustle, after everything else is done. But here’s the truth: everything will never be done. There will always be one more thing on the list. So maybe it’s time we stop waiting for permission to rest.
Doing nothing is not lazy — it’s strategic. It’s what keeps you from snapping on your group chat, rage-quitting your job, or eating cold fries for dinner again because you’re too tired to cook. Rest is how you reset, recharge, and remember who you are outside of all the noise.
So take that nap. Stare at the ceiling. Sit outside and watch the sky do absolutely nothing. Call it a soft reset. Call it grown-folks recess. Call it self-preservation. Just know that doing nothing doesn’t make you weak — it makes you wise.
