Prayers Between the Cracks: Finding God in Your Broken Moments

There’s a version of the glow-up nobody posts. The glow up begins in the wilderness.

I don’t know about y’all, but my most honest prayers don’t come while I’m sitting pretty with a Bible and a candle. They usually happen when I’m in the middle of a mess—emotions everywhere, hair tied up, and asking God why the dryer and my spirit both broke down in the same week.

It’s in those moments—those “Lord, I don’t have it today” moments—where I’ve learned that God is the most present.

I remember one night sitting on the edge of my bed, trying not to cry too loud because I didn’t want my kid to hear me. Life had been life-ing: bills stacking, emotions unraveling, and I had just enough energy to whisper, “Help me, God.” That’s it. No sermon. No deep scripture. Just “help.”

And would you believe that next morning, I didn’t wake up fixed—but I did wake up softer. Calmer. Like something unseen had shifted. Like I’d been heard.

These prayers between the cracks? They’re sacred. And nobody talks about them enough.

We always hear about the big testimonies—job promotions, healed relationships, house keys. But what about the small wins? Like making it through the day without snapping at anybody. Like finally sleeping through the night without anxiety doing the cha-cha in your chest. That’s God too.

So if you’re in a season where your prayers don’t sound fancy or faith-filled, don’t trip. If your “Amen” is followed by a deep sigh, that still counts.

God hears it all.
And more than that—He responds to it all.

You’re not falling apart, sis. You’re falling into place.
One cracked prayer at a time.

With you in the mess,
